Welcome Modobag: World’s First Rideable Connected Travel Bags

Tech savvy travellers, have you heard of Modobag, the world’s first connected rideable bag that gets you to your destination three times faster than walking? If your answer is no, then you are missing out.

Wondering how this works, exactly my thoughts too. The motorized carryon bag enables you to physically sit on and ride your way through the airport…isn’t that amazing.

Modobag sports a cushioned seat, a top speed of 8 miles-per-hour, and lithium batteries that last for 6 miles, based on 81.6kg commuter.  The bag is also equipped with quick-release foot pedals, a “steering column” and USB port to charge your phones on the go.

Like that’s not enough, the bag comes with a tracking app in case your bag gets missing or stolen. The bag weighs 8.6kg when empty can carry a rider weighing up to 117kg….wow, guess the Orobos are not left out of the fun. Imagine the jealous stares and envy as you ride around Murtala International Airport.

The invention of this startling travel piece is credited to Chicago entrepreneur and world traveller Kevin O’Donnell. He got the idea while he was traveling through the airport with the Chi-Town’s Finest Breakers, when the kids started taking turns riding on his suitcase. It was at that point he told them, “We are gonna put motors in these!” As soon as he reached his destination, Kevin called his college buddy Boyd, and the concept for Modobag was launched.

The bag is available for preorders at http://modobag.com/ for N297 ($995).
