Facebook-owned messaging app, WhatsApp has introduced new camera features that let you sketch on pictures and videos.
According to Whatsapp, “We’re introducing new ways to customize and enhance the photos and videos you share with friends and family around the world. With WhatsApp’s new camera features, you can now write or draw on photos and videos, as well as add emoji to express yourself”.
After you snap a picture or video, you can add emojis, draw on it or add a text. You will also be able to enable a front-facing “flash,” which basically whitens the screen temporarily to brighten up a low-light selfie.
In low light and at night, this will brighten up your screen and improve the quality of your photo. We have also added a convenient zooming feature for recording videos – just slide your finger up and down to zoom in and out. And to quickly switch between front and rear facing cameras, double tap on the screen, the company said in a blogpost.
With an interface that looks so much like that of Snapchat , its obvious the popular messaging app got a cue from Snapchap. When you click on the crayon icon on top to draw, you get a vertical line of colours that resembles the one on Snapchat.
The new camera feature is now available on Android phones.
